The Manitowoc Public School District could soon receive recommendations on school consolidation.
The district is having a special meeting tomorrow (November 25th) at 6:00 p.m. in their boardroom on Lindbergh Avenue.
The agenda includes a presentation about facilities consolidation recommendations.
There are also some future consolidation meetings on December 1st, 2nd, and 9th. The agenda doesn’t say if any action will be taken on the matter.
MPSD wants to consolidate schools in the district due to ageing facilities and declining student population.
The district is also considering changing the middle schools to have one building serving 5th and 6th grade students, and the other serving 7th and 8th grade students, while moving the elementary grades to K-4 instead of K-5.
When the plan will be voted on isn’t known yet.
