After 32 years on the job, Lieutenant Karen Elsenpeter has retired from the Two Rivers Police Department.
She first joined the force in Two Rivers on March 20th, 1993, as a part-time police officer, but became full-time in October of 1994.
Karen’s dedication to law enforcement was very clear as the following year, she was a part of the inaugural class of Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) in Wisconsin, and she has been an instructor for that course and for OWI detection for the last 29 years.
She even helped develop the state curriculum.
Karen’s career has spanned many roles, from School Liaison Officer and DARE Instructor to Patrol Lieutenant, and her dedication has earned her the title of Officer of the Year on two separate occasions, most recently in 2020.
The Two Rivers Police Department praised her hard work over the years, saying, “Karen has shown an overwhelming commitment to both her community and our department…You will be greatly missed and we wish you the very best in retirement!”
