The Manitowoc Lutheran girls’ basketball team picked up right where they left off, earning a dominating win over Ozaukee to kick off the 2025/2026 season.
The Lancers were efficient from the field, outscoring Ozaukee 72-33 at Lancer Circle.
In fact, Lutheran accounted for the first 24 points of the contest, and didn’t allow a single Ozaukee score until the 8:50 mark of the first half.
Additionally, the defense forced 31 Warrior turnovers in the first half alone, and took a 45-9 lead into the break.
Makiah Krause led the way for the Lancers with 17, while Marissa Melhorn accounted for 14 points, and Lilly Melhorn and Morgan Jost chipped in 10 apiece.
Abbey Behnke may not have lit up the scoreboard, but she did secure 12 rebounds for the Lancers, which will be back on the court on Thursday when they travel to Fond du Lac to face Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
