“Manitowoc’s Skyscrapers”, as they’ve been affectionately called, could be on the move as early as today (November 17th).
A tugboat was seen over the weekend, looking to move two big blue cranes built at Broadwind Heavy Fabrications to their new homes.
Broadwind has not given a specific time for when the cranes will leave or whether both will leave at once.
The cranes were built over the last few years, but have not been shipped.
The company announced in 2023 that it had received a $175 million contract to build two, after one was completed a couple of years earlier.
SeehaferNews.com was told last year that Broadwind didn’t have much information as to when the cranes would be shipped away.
One will be sent to Washington State, and the other to Hawaii.
