The alleged gunman in a Sheboygan Falls homicide is set to return to court.
36-year-old Luis E. Cruz Burgos is set to appear inside a Sheboygan County courtroom today at 4:00 p.m. for his arraignment.
Cruz Burgos has been charged with one count of First-Degree Reckless Homicide in the death of 32-year-old Giovanni Michael Robisnon, who was fatally shot on September 24th in the 600 block of Monroe Street.
During the 36-year-old’s preliminary hearing last month, an officer with the Sheboygan Falls Police Department stated that GPS tracking data and surveillance camera footage placed Cruz Burgos in Downtown Sheboygan Falls in the moments leading up to the gunshot that would ultimately take Robinson’s life.
Investigators say that Cruz Burgos was working as a DoorDash delivery driver, completing an order in the area.
He was then contacted by Robinson’s group, who attempted to negotiate terms for a ride back to their hotel in nearby Kohler, but an agreement could not be made.
It is alleged that Cruz Burgos then drove off, made a U-turn, and fired a single shot that ultimately killed Robinbson, a Canadian international.
