The Waukesha School Board is planning to close multiple schools as it deals with declining enrollment.
The board voted on Wednesday in favor of shutting down, repurposing, or selling three schools by the end of the academic year.
That includes Bethesda and Hawthorne elementary schools, along with the Whittier building that houses the elementary STEM program for the district.
The option board members voted in favor of also including offering two middle schools or turning Horning Middle School into a K through eight STEM school.
