A fire in a wood stove got out of control at a Kaukauna residence last night (November 13th).
The Kaukauna Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on East Tobacnoir Street on a report of a fire in a garage.
Upon their arrival, the fire fighters noted flames coming from the backside of the two and a half stall garage, and that the fire was starting to break through the roof of the structure.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, but not before the garage and the two vehicles inside were deemed a total loss.
No one was hurt in the incident, which was said to have originated from a wood stove that was in use at the time.
The Kaukauna Fire Department is reminding residents to keep combustible materials and other flammable items at a safe distance from all heating sources, including wood stoves, furnaces, and space heaters.
