Some area students were runners-up in a design contest sponsored by the Wisconsin DNR.
The 2026 Wisconsin State Park and Forest vehicle admission pass design contest had 150 submissions from high school students attending public and private schools, as well as some who were homeschooled.
Seven students received honorable mentions for their vehicle pass designs, including Ella Kanzelberger from Green Bay Preble High School and Kaitlyn Harrison from Hortonville High School.
The winner this year was Senior Jaelyn Logterman from Delevan-Darian High School in southern Wisconsin, while the second-place winner was Adalynn Zahurance from Rice Lake.
Vehicle admission passes provide access to more than 60 state parks, forests, and recreational areas in Wisconsin.
They can be purchased online with the new design going on passes starting on January 1st.
