
A teenager in Oshkosh is recovering from injuries after being hit by a truck.
The Oshkosh Police Department says that an officer witnessed the accident, which took place yesterday just before 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of West Murdock Avenue and Vinland Street.
A tow truck was turning eastbound onto Murdock when they struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street.
The victim was identified as an Oshkosh North High student who was just a few blocks from school.
The Oshkosh North student sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Additional law enforcement, including the Oshkosh Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team and OPD Detectives, responded to the scene whose investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Following the incident, Officer Kate Mann said, “We want to remind drivers to use extra caution during school arrival and dismissal times. Please slow down, eliminate distractions, obey posted school-zone speeds, and yield to crossing guards and pedestrians at crosswalks.”
