The Sheboygan County Warming Center is now open for the season.
Opening day for the Warming Center officially came on Monday (November 10th), which saw them house 35 guests.
The season has been off to a strong start, thanks in large part to the work done by their dedicated volunteers.
However, the warming center is still looking to fill numerous volunteer shifts throughout the month of November.
They include early-bird shifts from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday (November 15th) and November 26th.
Volunteers are also needed at the Community Café from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on November 25th, 26th, and 27th.
The Warming Center also relies on community volunteers to supply its guests with a warm meal during their stay, and is looking for meals for November 22nd and 28th.
When making the call for additional volunteer support, Sheboygan’s Warming Center said, “Sign up, show up, and help us make sure everyone in Sheboygan has a warm meal and a safe place to rest.”
Those looking to offer their help to support those experiencing homelessness in the Sheboygan community can find links to sign up for volunteer positions by visiting the Sheboygan County Warming Center Facebook page.
