Lynn R. Strauss, age 76 of Manitowoc, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 7, 2025, at her residence.
The former Lynn Krainik was born on December 10, 1948, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Alvin and Elva (Meurer) Krainik. She was a 1967 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On March 18, 1967, she was married to John “Jack” Strauss at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. In the past, Lynn worked part-time for United Laundry and Dry Cleaners. Lynn enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, her grandchildren, and loved the holidays especially Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Survivors include her husband: John “Jack” Strauss; five children: Terry (Jodi) Strauss, Lisa (Kevin) Ryder, Shane Strauss and special friend Lynn Lappegard, Kim Strauss, Becky (Ryan) Belinske, all of Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Travis (Kiley) Ryder, John Ryder, Brady Strauss; one great-grandchild: Sophia Ryder and one on the way in March of 2026; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law: Jim (Don) Strauss, Davenport, IA, Dolores (Dick) Rohrer, Tucson, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alvin and Elva Krainik; one infant son: John Dennis Strauss; one brother: John Krainik.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 2109 Marshall Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Nicholas Stellpflug will Celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
