A Manitowoc woman who claimed she worshipped the “Saint of Death” is still not competent to stand trial in her stabbing case.
Court records show that 49-year-old Blanca Perez-Hernandez was back in court on Friday (November 7th) as she faces two counts of First-Degree Reckless Injury with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
At Friday’s hearing, the court determined that Perez-Hernandez “is not yet competent to proceed but likely to regain competency within the statutory time period. The commitment to DHS is continued, who is to continue treatment at their discretion.”
Perez-Hernandez was arrested in January after trying to steal license plates from cars in Manitowoc.
When confronted by the owners, she pulled out a knife and slashed one person before trying to attack another.
Manitowoc Police say she told them the Santa Muerte, or the “Saint of Death” had gifted her all the cars in the trailer park.
Following the findings in her most recent competency hearing, Perez-Hernandez will be back in court for another on February 4th of next year.
