The City of Two Rivers will be increasing its tax levy by 2.5% this year.
In the city’s latest Cool City Connect, the city has a modest increase in its Service Fund of $35,065, or 1.37%, plus an increase in the city’s Library Fund of $13,635, or an even 2%.
In addition, the city has about $47,000 in allowable levy capacity for the General Fund plus $45,000 in unused capacity carried forward from last year.
The total levy increase for the Cool City this year would $140,00 or 2.55%, which equals about a $31 annual increase on a home assessed at $200,000.
Last year, the city had no levy increase, but city officials say that with the costs of materials, equipment, and services continuing to rise, the 2.5% increase “helps the city maintain streets, parks, and public safety, services that residents demand and expect.”
