With food scarcity on the rise across the country, local law enforcement is looking to help in Sheboygan County.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center, will be hosting a food drive to help those in need.
The food drive officially began on Wednesday (November 5th) and will run through Friday, November 21st.
Those looking to contribute are asked to donate non-perishable, shelf-stable items, as thousands of Sheboygan County residents face uncertainty as SNAP benefits for November are set to be delayed, decreased, or potentially withheld entirely.
Donations are able to be dropped off inside the Sheriff’s Office lobby located at 525 North 6th Street in the City of Sheboygan at any time from now through November 21st during regular operating hours.
Upon completion of the food drive, all items will be donated to the Sheboygan County Food Bank.
The Food Bank has said that items most needed include cereal, canned tuna, pasta, and pasta sauce; however, all non-perishable donations will be accepted with great appreciation.
