The former band director at Fox Valley Lutheran High School is maintaining his innocence.
In court yesterday, 63-year-old James Neujahr pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
He is also out of jail, as his $25,000 cash bail was posted ahead of the hearing.
The investigation into Neujahr began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off the Appleton Police Department about some explicit material containing children that had been sent from a computer in the city.
External hard drives were seized from Neujahr’s home, which were said to contain around 2,000 sexual images of children.
It is not believed that any students at Fox Valley Lutheran were depicted, or that Neujahr had done anything with or to any student.
He has since been terminated from his position and is set to return to court in January.
