A portion of the Mariners Trail in Manitowoc will be closed next week.
City Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski says the area of Bay Pointe Road to approximately 700 feet to the southwest, as well as the adjoining parking area northeast of the roundabout, will be closed starting on Monday (November 10th).
The city will install new shoreline protection along Memorial Drive and is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
During the project, the trail will be protected with steel sheets; however, it’s anticipated that some repairs may be needed at the end of the project due to heavy equipment use.
Koski says if’ that’s not feasible to get permanent asphalt repairs this fall, the trail will be made passable for winter with permanent repairs coming in spring.
