The Elks Club in Manitowoc had a couple of very successful events late last month.
On October 25th, Lodge #687 hosted its fifth annual Trunk-or-Treat event, featuring eleven member vehicles giving out candy.
Inside the lodge at 1807 North Rapids Road, over 200 hot dogs were served, along with chips, and chocolate milk or a bottle of water.
Each child received a drug awareness coloring book as part of the National Drug Awareness program.
Then, the following day, Lodge #687 sponsored a youth event at Strand Adventures to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline.
Over 60 youths involved in BBBS were given two hours of free play in the adventure park, and received winter hats, gloves, and scarves.
The lodge also donated $4,000 to the organization.
