A wrongful death lawsuit is being filed against Tesla following a deadly crash in Verona last November.
Five people were killed in that crash when the Tesla hit a tree and caught fire. Family members of two people claimed in the lawsuit that the car’s door system kept those inside from being able to escape.
The lawsuit also alleges the door handle doesn’t function when the vehicle catches fire.
WMTV reports that the five people died the night of the crash, but a confirmed cause of death hasn’t been released for any of the victims.
