The Manitowoc County Veterans Service Office is getting ready again to recognize those who serve.
Officer Todd Brehmer explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program on Monday (October 3rd) that they will host a Veterans Day ceremony and banquet on Tuesday, November 11th.
The ceremony will take place at the veteran’s memorial across from Evergreen Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
That way, honoring can be done on the 11th hour. But before that, the Manitowoc County United Veterans Council will host the Veteran’s Day Banquet on Saturday (November 8th) at Seven Lakes Golf and Dining with a social beginning at 4:00 p.m. and a ceremony at 4:45 p.m.
Both events are open to the public, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the Veterans Day ceremony will be held inside the Heritage Center in the County Board room.
Brehmer also explained that Veterans Day is different from Memorial Day, since Memorial Day honors those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in battle.
Veterans Day recognizes those who are living or have passed on.
