
The roller coaster at the pump continues, with gas prices back on the rise.
The average price per gallon of regular unleaded fuel in Manitowoc County jumped nine cents since this time last week to $2.90, according to the AAA Gas Prices website.
Three weeks ago, the local average was at $2.66, but a 23-cent jump, followed by a nine-cent drop, has left motorists with some whiplash at the pump.
The Sheboygan County average rose seven cents over the same time frame to $2.84, while Calumet County is experiencing the least whiplash with a one-cent bump to $2.83.
Outagamie and Brown Counties each reported nine-cent jumps to $2.85 and $2.89, respectively, while Kewaunee County’s average is up two cents to $2.84, and Door County motorists are paying six cents more per gallon with an average of $2.88.
The state average followed the local trend, rising eight cents to $2.86, while the national average is up five cents to $3.08.
