Two familiar faces at the Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA have been selected for a prestigious honor.
Donna and Dar Johnson were awarded the Leadership Award of Excellence from the Upper Midwest Alliance of YMCAs for their “continued excellence and dedication in providing outstanding volunteer leadership.”
Donna and Dar have spent countless hours planning, planting, and maintaining the gardens that surround the YMCA, creating a welcoming and beautiful space for members and visitors.
Donna’s eye for design and care for every detail, combined with Dar’s hard work behind the scenes hauling equipment and lending a hand wherever needed, have made the garden a beloved part of the Y experience.
Julie Grossman, the CEO of the local Y, called Donna and Dar “wonderful members of our Y community,” noting, “This award recognizes how hard Donna works – with the unwavering help of her husband Dar – to make the Y a welcoming, beautiful place for all to enjoy.”
