There is one meeting happening in the City of Kiel tonight.
It’s a special meeting being held in the council chambers at 6:00 p.m.
The only item on the agenda is for the council to convene into closed session to discuss the Kiel Personnel Committee’s recommendation for the mayor’s appointment of a new City Administrator.
The agenda says the council could reconvene in open session to discuss and act on the subject matter, meaning the council could announce who will take over for Dave Funkhouser before adjourning for the evening.
The city council voted 3-2 to approve Funkhouser’s resignation back in October, after stating that there was toxicity on the council and that he never felt welcome in the job.
Mayor Bob Henning cast the tying vote to allow Funkhouser to retire, saying he will miss what Dave brought to the city.
