Staff at the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum are trying to update their strategic plan.
In a message from new Executive Director Beth Kowalski, she explained that the museum has been focusing on four areas: operational strengthening, supporting its team, learning and equity, and creative expression.
Hamilton’s Board of Directors and Kowalski have been working to ensure smooth, secure access to tools and applications while also updating their employee policies and handbooks, following a partnership with Human Resources advisors to refine their strategic goals.
Kowalski also stated that the museum is looking back and that, while they respect people’s rights to say what they want, “we also need to forge ahead in our important work for the future of the Museum.”
The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum is also planning a retreat with its staff and board members to review its strategic plan, strengthen alignment between roles, and re-energize before next year.
The museum has been criticized for canceling residencies for some artists earlier this year.
They canceled their annual Wayzgoose Conference due to issues surrounding it.
