An online jewelry trend has made its way to Two Rivers.
Stung by Sam has opened up inside of The Mystic Candle, located at 1718 East Street, where people can explore the world of permanent jewelry.
Samantha Kulpa came up with the idea of opening Stung by Sam after scrolling TikTok, where she learned about the trend.
“It’s a piece of jewelry that has been custom, made it to fit you and can be welded shut with or without a clasp,” she explained.
She became intrigued by permanent jewelry, but decided to open up her own shop while at the Manitowoc County Fair.
“There was a permanent jewelry booth set up…and I had gotten one done,” she recalled. “Then I was like, ‘Hmm, that looks pretty cool to do.’”
Samantha took a course, got her LLC, and then, thanks to her mother owning the Mystic Candle, set up shop.
“The shop has been around since 1998,” she explained. “I figured that this would be it with the storefront and everything already here. I figured it would just have my own little area set up here.”
Those who would like to learn more about Stung by Sam or permanent jewelry in general are invited to an event coming up later this month.
“It is (hosted) by Awakened Lakeshore,” Sammantha noted. “We’re going to have seven other vendors along with two food trucks.”
The Weekend Market will be held at 2221 Lincoln Avenue and will run from 10:00 to 3:00 p.m.
