One of the men responsible for robbing a coin store in Grand Chute is heading to prison.
33-year-old Beau Wastel was found guilty do to a no contest plea to one charge of felony Armed Robbery with the Use of Force in August and has now been sentenced to serve time in bars.
Wastel was in an Outagamie County courtroom late last week for his sentencing hearing, where Judge Carrie Schneider ordered him to spend 18 years in prison for the violent attack and robbery.
While found guilty of Armed Robbery, four other counts the 33-year-old faced, including Substantial Battery, were dismissed but read into the record.
A criminal complaint states that Wastel entered Affordable Rare Coins wearing a wig in Grand Chute on August 10th, last year.
He proceeded to ask the clerk to see a baseball card in one of the glass cases.
When the employee bent over, Wastel hit them in the head with a wrench before chasing the worker out of the store.
He then returned with the wrench in hand, smashed a glass display case, and stole merchandise.
Two other individuals were also involved in the crime.
Michael Thorpe has since been sentenced to 16 years in prison, while Cory Schmitz is awaiting trial for his involvement.
