
The WIAA State Cross Country Meet was held Saturday at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. In the boys Division Three race, Roncalli junior Elliot Onesti placed tenth. Valders placed 16th as a team with sophomore Kolten Schisel pacing the Vikings with a 44th-place finish.
Kohler finished second in Boys Division Two, Notre Dame placed 4th, and Luxemburg-Casco placed 8th.
In Boys Division One, De Pere placed fourth with senior Grady Lenn winning the race. Neenah placed 10th, and Green Bay Preble was 12th.
In the girls Division One race, Manitowoc Lincoln Junior Natalie Portman placed 17th, with sophomore Noah Free running a time of 20 minutes and 17 seconds, climbing 22 spots in the final mile. Neenah took home the state title, Appleton North was 7th, Hortonville was 8th, Kimberly was 11th, and Oshkosh West placed 18th.
In Girls Division Two, Two Rivers Sophomore Allie Gallagher placed 45th, and Kiel finished 9th as a team, with senior Addison Vogel leading the Raiders with a 24th-place finish. Notre Dame finished 5th as a team.
In Division Three Girls, Kohler was second with junior Maggie Bohler winning the race. Kewaunee was 10th, and Valders placed 11th.
Kewaunee senior Hannah Miller earned a medal with her third-place finish. Sophomore Alyssa Wagner was Valders’ top runner and placed 20th.
Mishicot sophomore Julianna Doerner finished 17th, Brillion sophomore Alana Kampen was 19th, and Howards Grove junior Ashlynn Miller placed 46th.
