A Manitowoc church is getting ready to host a night of remembrance for those affected by the Holocaust.
On Sunday, November 9th, First Presbyterian Church will welcome all to “Kristallnacht, A Night for Remembrance,” which will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Those in attendance will learn more about Kristallnacht, known as “The Night of Broken Glass,” in which German militias were given official authorization to enter Jewish neighborhoods throughout the nation and destroy businesses, homes and property belonging to Jewish individuals.
Discussions will cover the political status of pre-WWII Germany and how they led up to sanctioned national violence and terror, how those conditions contrast with our current national policies, and the input and impact of religious groups in both circumstances.
Guests are being asked to use the 8th Street entrance for the church located at 501 North 8th Street.
