The United Way of Manitowoc County is gearing up for one of its big fundraisers of the year.
Donor Match Month will take place starting in November and will help support the local United Way’s general fund or community action fund.
Executive Director Ashley Bender said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that the first part of Donor Match Month will start with local companies.
“The goal for this year is $40,000,” she explained. “So, we work with companies in November to raise half of the goal. So, we’re looking to companies to donate $20,000. And then in December, we invite the general public to help us match what we receive from federal companies.”
Companies that participate can also win a chance to showcase during United Way Manitowoc County’s annual luncheon in April.
It could be about a product they have or something they are excited to see happening within their company.
Bender also says individuals who donate to Donor Match Month could also get rewarded.
They will be entered to win some gift certificates for restaurants or other local places in the area.
Individuals can also designate their donation for a specific area where United Way helps.
“One of the impact areas or one of the programs that we do, say the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program, you can designate, during donor match month, some specific if you’d like,” Bender noted.
More information will be provided in the future on their website, unitedwaymanitowoccounty.org, and on their social media.
