An Appleton man is facing charges after using an app to get unsuspecting men into the home of an individual he was stalking.
The Appleton Police Department arrested 30-year-old Matthew J. Huebschman is facing one felony count of stalking after what the department calls a year-long pattern of disturbing and intrusive behavior.
Huebschman allegedly used the dating app Grindr to arrange meetings between unknown men and the victim.
The suspect would then pose as the victim and direct the men to the victim’s home, telling them to enter the residence when they arrived.
Huebschman would watch outside the residence as the men arrived, and that ultimately led to his arrest.
The victim did suffer from a “sense of fear and distress” because the men would walk in unannounced.
The 30-year-old is in the Outagamie County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond and is not to intimidate or otherwise interfere with the victims or witnesses and shall not commit any other crime, according to his bail.
Huebschman is scheduled to return to court on November 7th for a preliminary hearing.
