A new employee with Progress Lakeshore will help with new childcare businesses in Manitowoc County.
The economic developer announced that Lynn Palama has been hired as the organization’s Community Childcare Development Specialist.
Progress Lakeshore Executive Director Jamie Zastrow says by bringing in Palama to help invest in childcare startups, “we’re helping ensure families can work and businesses can have the workforce they need to thrive.”
Palama was acquired through the Entrepreneurship Partner Grant awarded to Progress Lakeshore by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to help address the growing need for quality healthcare in the region.
She will offer one-on-one guidance, resources, and connections to individuals interested in launching childcare services, from in-home providers to large group centers.
She’ll also support partnerships with local municipalities, employers, and community stakeholders to create sustainable childcare solutions.
