Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer has announced he will not be seeking another term in office.
In a memo to SeehaferNews.com, Ziegelbauer thanked “the people of Manitowoc County for their loyal support over the years, and thank you to the Manitowoc County employees and County Board Supervisors that I had the honor to work with. It has certainly been a pleasure for me to serve you.”
The Roncalli High School grad first entered politics in 1993, when he was elected to represent the 25th Assembly District, a seat he held until 2013.
He was first elected as County Executive in 2013 and was reelected five consecutive times.
It is not clear who will run for the office in the April 2026 election.
