Local dancers are being given an opportunity to showcase their skills while raising money for a good cause.
On December 6th at the Franciscan Center, Manty Dance will be hosting Lakeshore’s Dancing with the Stars, which will be similar to the TV show of the same name.
Event organizer Charyce Welch tells SeehaferNews.com that influential people in the community will be teamed up with members of Manty Dance, which is also providing the choreography.
“Cari (Lynn) has been wonderful to partner with and has been super helpful in getting these dances choreographed, along with getting the groups and the competitors paired up with somebody that they feel comfortable with and are good at what they do,” Welch told SeehaferNews.com.
While there will be judges on hand, those in attendance will also have the opportunity to help their favorite dance duo take home the win.
“We’ll have a couple of sessions of dancing,” Welch explained. We’ll have our first session, second session, and an intermission between. We’ll have a second intermission, which will involve the actual voting. So you’ll be able to vote for your favorite dancer. You’ll be able to buy votes if you want to give a couple more or a little bit more of an advantage to a certain dancer.”
Proceeds from Lakeshore’s Dancing with the Stars will go towards supporting the Franciscan Center as well as charities selected by the top two finishers.
Sponsorships are available for those who would like to support the event.
Additional event details and sponsorship forms are available at FCMEP.org.
The contestants and judges will be announced gradually as the event draws closer on the Lakeshore’s Dancing with the Stars Facebook page.
