Nurses in the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) are taking action to ensure students can receive the vision care they need.
SASD nurses have launched the Eye on Education campaign, an initiative to raise funds to provide students with free eye exams and glasses.
The need for this campaign stems from many students within the district struggling to succeed in school due to untreated vision issues.
Through Eyes on Education, SASD has partnered with Dr. Nichole Cruz of Cruz Family Eyecare, who will be offering these exams and glasses to students whose families may not be able to afford these treatments.
The district has said that donations of any size to the campaign are greatly appreciated and will go towards making a difference in the lives of many SASD students, ranging from kindergarten to high school.
Those donating are asked to write a check payable to The Early Learning Center.
Donations can be dropped off at the Early Learning Center, mailed to the Early Learning Center, noting attention to Lori Hamilton, or given to one of the many school nurses.
Alternatively, donations can be given through Venmo directly to Hamilton as well.
