Police have arrested an 89-year-old woman accused of hitting a nine-year-old child in Cudahy and leaving the scene on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the child was struck while walking to school and suffered multiple injuries.
The victim was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Officers later located the driver and took her into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury.
The case has been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
