A man who passed away after an explosion in Door County has been identified.
Chief Deputy Kyle Veeser says 27-year-old Sean C. Marquardt of Algoma passed away from the explosion that happened last Saturday (October 25th) at the Harbour Village Resort and Campground on Highway 42 in the Town of Egg Harbor.
Further investigation shows that the source of the explosion, reported originally as an air tank, was actually a water tank that exploded while water lines were flushed during winterization efforts.
Door County Sheriff’s deputies were called just before 7:45 a.m. for the incident and found a partially dismantled building due to the water tank before finding Marquardt.
The incident is still under investigation, and no other information is being released.
