
A man was arrested for his 6th OWI in Manitowoc over the weekend.
An officer was on patrol in downtown Manitowoc at 2:30 Saturday morning (October 25th) when a vehicle was seen crossing the centerline several times.
The vehicle was pulled over in the area of South 20th and Hamilton Streets, and the officer noted the smell of burnt marijuana and alcohol.
The 37-year-old man was also reported to be slurring his words and displaying other physical indicators of intoxication. He admitted that he and his passenger had been drinking, and that he “wanted to get us home.”
A field sobriety test was conducted, during which the man showed numerous signs of impairment, leading to his arrest.
A search of the man and his vehicle uncovered a THC vape, some marijuana totaling one gram, and a “roach” which had been used.
He was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of OWI, his 6th Offense, Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
