David Allen Rezachek, age 66, of Lena, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on October 22, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on September 3, 1959, in Manitowoc to Nancy and Charles Rezachek, David graduated from Lincoln High School in 1977 and went on to obtain a degree in Printing and Graphic Arts from Lakeshore Technical College.
David held various positions throughout his life, most notably co-owning a business selling manufactured homes, where he found joy in helping fulfill the dreams of potential home buyers. As a teenager, he volunteered at YARC, the Youth Association for Retarded Citizens, and later worked as a direct support professional for over twenty years, caring for the disabled in adult family home settings. His positive attitude and compassion improved the quality of life for many, and he was once celebrated for saving the life of a client.
David was a passionate music lover, traveler, and adventurer. He enjoyed concerts by artists ranging from Cher to Pink Floyd and found inspiration in nature for his painting and container gardening. An animal lover, he bred cocker spaniels, raised chickens, and was an ornithological enthusiast. His pets included turtles Myrtle and Bob, and his cat Meh. A proud Green Bay Packers fan, David also loved cooking and exploring new cuisines. He was a trusted friend and confidant to many, and a stranger to no one.
He is survived by his partner Timothy Merritt; his parents Charles and Nancy Rezachek; his sister Ellen Wilhelm; brothers and sisters-in-law Gary (Bev) Rezachek and Stephen (Jena) Rezachek; nieces and nephews Tyler (Sara), James, Joleen (Mark), and Katelyn; great nieces and nephews Ayana, Zuri, Isaac, Charlotte, Matthew, and Bristol; aunts Iris, Faye, Gloria, and Tracy; uncles John, Chuck, and Neal; and many close cousins, dear friends, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother Gene, brother-in-law Jim, and nephew Kevin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish – Marshall Site, 2109 Marshall St., Manitowoc, WI, 54220.
