It’s the second of two days during the year to get rid of unwanted prescriptions and medications in Wisconsin.
This Saturday (October 25th) is the second day of the year for Drug Take Back Day, an initiative to help residents get rid of unwanted and expired medications that sometimes find their way into the wrong hands.
In Manitowoc County, the Kiel Community Center on 3rd Street will be accepting unwanted medications and ointments from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There will also be multiple locations for Sheboygan County residents. They include HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, Generations in Plymouth, the Random Lake Fire Department, and the Sheboygan Falls Police Department.
The police department will accept meds from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Aside from unwanted prescription meds and ointments, other items that will be accepted include creams, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, and patches.
However, syringes, illegal drugs, iodine-containing meds, or vape pens with a built-in battery will not be taken.
