City officials and the Milwaukee Police Association have reached a preliminary agreement on a new police contract.
The news was announced on Tuesday in a joint statement from Mayor Cavalier Johnson and the union.
The proposed contract would cover most officers in the Milwaukee Police Department.
However, before taking effect, the agreement must still be approved by both the police union members and the Milwaukee Common Council.
