The Sheboygan Area School District has provided more information on the construction plans at two of its middle schools.
Since the district successfully passed a $121 million referendum to update Farnsworth and Urban Middle Schools last year, construction and engineering plans have been in design.
In the most recent referendum update, the SASD has said that this design phase is expected to be completed by the end of January next year.
Once design plans are approved, the district will begin accepting construction bids with hopes of breaking ground at each school on March 1st.
Construction at Urban is expected to be completed in two phases, with plans for phase two to get underway after the end of this school year.
Farnsworth will have a three-phase construction project; however, phase two there is not expected to begin until June of 2027.
Despite a later date for phases two and three at Farnsworth, the district has set a tentative completion date of April 2028 for the renovation project, while Urban’s new school is not expected to be finished until January 1st, 2029.
With the latest insight on the projects, the SASD has shared even more new renderings for what each school is expected to look like upon completion.
