Bail has been set for the Manitowoc woman accused of stealing laundry detergent from Family Dollar.
The state requested that Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa set bail for 24-year-old Mackenzie L. Busalacchi at $5,000 cash due to her having numerous open cases, including a Robbery with Use of Force case in Fond du Lac County, and multiple warrants out for her arrest.
However, Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa stopped the forfeiture of bond for a drug manufacturing case, and added $2,000 for that case, and $500 for the new retail theft case.
Busalacchi was arrested after she was caught taking a bottle of laundry detergent from the shelf and attempting to return it with an old receipt.
When she was denied, Busalacchi left the store with the detergent.
She was supposed to be in court the morning of that incident, but failed to appear, which was noted by the state during her bail hearing.
As a part of her cash bail, Busalacchi was ordered to have no contact with the Family Dollar, and is set to return for her initial appearance in Branch 2 on October 27th at 1:30 p.m.
