Congressman Glenn Grothman says the 20-day-long government shutdown is all due to Democrats “refusing to work with President Trump.”
In his newsletter, Eastern Wisconsin’s representative in Congress noted that he voted in favor of a clean funding bill to “keep the government open and protect essential services on September 19th.”
However, he said, “Senate Democrats chose to now block this legislation, something they supported 13 times during the Biden Administration.”
Rep. Grothman praised President Trump’s actions during the shutdown, saying he “has stepped in and directed Secretary Hegseth to ensure our service members continue receiving their paychecks.”
He closed his statement by adding, “This shutdown is hurting families, small businesses, and communities across Wisconsin. It’s time for Democrats to put people before politics and vote to reopen the government.”
