An Oshkosh man could face federal charges after robbing a Kwik Trip.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office was called to the gas station last Monday (October 13th) at 12:30 a.m. in the Town of Vinland after the man, identified as 58-year-old Lorenzo Wood Jr., showed a handgun and demanded money to be taken out of the cash register.
Wood Jr. left the Kwik Trip with an undisclosed amount of money and walked across the street where he had parked his vehicle.
With the assistance of Oshkosh and Neenah Police Departments, numerous officers swarmed the area to try and find the 58-year-old; however, they were unsuccessful.
With help from a variety of investigative resources, law enforcement was able to identify Woods’ car and realized he had a history of robbery convictions.
Last Wednesday (October 15th), Wood was arrested in the City of Oshkosh after sheriff’s deputies and the Wisconsin State Patrol made a traffic stop and took him into custody without incident.
The case is currently under review for federal charges in the gas station robbery.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office also commended the patrons and workers at the Kwik Trip for their observation skills to help give information.
