The completion date for a months-long road construction project in Sheboygan County has been pushed back two weeks.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has shared that work on State Highway 32, which was originally scheduled to be finished on October 31st, is now set to be completed on November 14th.
The project, which began on April 1st, spans 10 miles and is costing just over $5 million.
This week, crews will be out continuing to install new guardrails north of County Road V while placing permanent pavement markings along the entire length of the project.
At this time, Highway 32 remains closed and detoured between County Road V and Sheboygan Falls, and drivers will still be directed to use Interstate 43 and V.
Additionally, I-43 will be closed in various areas throughout the week as part of scheduled maintenance being done by WisDOT.
Southbound 43 will experience a lane closure at Mueller Road on Thursday (October 23rd) and Friday (October 24th) from 8:00 a.m. to noon each day.
A lane closure will also be used on northbound 43 from Wednesday (October 22nd) through Friday at State Highway 28, allowing crews to repair a beamguard along the interstate.
All road projects in Sheboygan County and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.
