A former area teacher charged with sexually assaulting a child is due in court.
43-year-old Marcie Zimmerman will return to a Fond du Lac County courtroom tomorrow (October 21st) for her preliminary hearing.
Zimmerman has been charged with felony counts of Sexual Assault of a Student by School Staff and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material, and one misdemeanor count of Sexual Intercourse with a Child 16 or Older while being 19 or Older.
The 43-year-old was arrested in August by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation revealed that she had allegedly sexually assaulted a since-graduated Plymouth student.
While teaching in Sheboygan County, it’s said the alleged sex crimes against a child were committed in Fond du Lac County, where Zimmerman resides.
According to Zimmerman’s LinkedIn page, prior to her time in the Plymouth School District, she also served as an agricultural teacher at Reedsville High School.
Before her hearing, Zimmerman remains in the Fond du Lac County jail on a $25,000 cash bond, which was set at her initial appearance in August.
