A Fond du Lac jury has convicted a teen who was accused of shooting and killing a woman in 2023.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says a jury convicted Parise Larry Jr. of eight charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless injury, and child in possession of a dangerous weapon.
Larry now faces a mandatory life sentence for the first-degree intentional homicide conviction after the now 16-year-old shot and killed 20-year-old Tatyanna Zech and injured two others.
Witnesses say Larry and 17-year-old Antonio Johnson were hanging around the Maplewood Common Apartments in the 800 block of Martin Avenue when they jumped Zech and her friends.
In the days after the shooting, it was found out that one of the individuals who was shot was the intended victim, but Zech was caught in the crossfire.
Larry was 14 at the time of the shooting.
He will return to court on December 19th for sentencing.
Toney called the event “a horrific example of Chicago-style violence in our community, with both co-defendants having grown up in Chicago. We will continue to aggressively prosecute violent crime in our community, regardless of age to ensure we have safe streets.”
