The Manitowoc Police Department is informing residents of a convicted sex offender who has been released from prison.
Cheng Hang was previously convicted of 2 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, but has served his sentence as imposed by the courts, and is residing in Manitowoc.
He is required to follow the rules as established by the Department of Corrections, to be registered with the Sex Offender Registration Program and GPS Tracking as a lifetime registrant, and will be on extended supervision through the Department of Corrections until October of 2030.
The Manitowoc Police Department releases this information not to instill fear in the community, but rather to make sure it is as informed as possible.
Any use of this information to harass, intimidate, or threaten Hang will not be tolerated.
