The Manitowoc County Historical Society is being recognized for its work restoring a 1890s dance hall that’s housed at Pinecrest Historical Village.
The Chamber Manitowoc County is hosting a ribbon cutting for the Nennig Dance Pavilion on Tuesday, October 28th at 12:00 p.m. at the village.
The dance pavilion stood at the corner of County Highway XX and West View Road in Cleveland before it was moved to be part of the historical society’s collection in 2003.
Community events, dances, and family celebrations took place inside, but the building closed in 2022 due to structural concerns.
A.C.E. Building Service along with the Amish Group, Red Maple Sales, and Legacy Architecture helped remodel the building and allowed the doors to reopen again to entertain the masses.
Those who attend the ribbon cutting will learn about the Nennig Dance Pavilion’s restoration journey and the new approach to make the building structurally strong for years to come.
Refreshment and snacks will also be served plus a tram service will be available to assist folks from the McCalister House Welcome Center to the dance pavilion.
