A Madison woman has admitted guilt in the fatal stabbing of her mother.
Authorities report that 31-year-old Sierra Schoonover pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide after a violent altercation with Heather Schoonover.
An altercation that a neighbor reportedly witnessed.
An autopsy confirmed Heather suffered multiple stab wounds.
Court documents indicate Sierra has a history of anxiety and depression, but was deemed mentally competent to face trial.
She has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
A status hearing is scheduled later this month to address the plea.
