Volunteers are needed for an upcoming tree planting event in Two Rivers.
The Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department and Grace Congregational Church will be hosting the Community Tree Planting Project on Saturday (October 18th), from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
In total, the two organizations are looking to plant 20 trees in Washington Park and across the city; however, volunteers are still needed to make that happen.
In planting these trees, the goal is to help clean our air, provide shade, and create homes for wildlife for generations to come.
Two Rivers Parks and Rec will provide shovels, gloves, water, and snacks for those who volunteer.
This project has been made possible thanks to a grant from Fait in Place through the Inflation Reduction Act.
Those looking to help grow a greener future in the city can sign up to volunteer by visiting the Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department Facebook page.
